Why are vice blocks so expensive?

My guess is because the demand for them is low. Some people just use a Pmag instead

Maybe I'm missing out on how much easier they make things, but I've never used a lower vice block.

For me it acts as a third hand. I just use and old magazine with some wood shim stock.

I trimmed a spare 2x4 to magwell dimensions.
