| Hey guys I have a YHM free float that I am trying to install on my upper, I am trying to get the gas tube lined up and it seams like its in the middle. By this I mean if I tighten it up about 60 foot founds give or take its to much and wont line up, if I loosen it a bit it lines up. The only issue is when I loosen it up I only takes minimal effort with my wrench to loosen it. I fear if I torque it to much more ill strip it, so any advise would be great. In theory the gas tube would keep it from lossing along with the jam but, please share your expertise |

Did you grease the nut? Make sure you grease the threads.
Then torque, and loosen, torque and loosen, torque and loosen. Eventually, the threads should seat better, and you'll find that you can line up the holes. Might take 3 times, might take 15 times. Maybe more. Keep going at it, until you get to where you can line it up without a huge amount of force beyond the initial torque. |
