This may be a really stupid question, but I just picked one of these up and I don't understand why the hole that the gas tube goes in is open on both sides? wouldn't the gas just shoot straight through?

Does anyone have one of these that they installed themselves?

Isn't the gas tube manufactured with a sealed end (minus set pin holes)?

My YHM low pro only has one hole for the gas tube (minus the set pin holes for mounting).

Midway has a good picture of yours but does not show it from the other end.
