| Well, I've been without an upper receiver for my AR for over a year now. My previous one had a flash hider and a bayo lug and in NY that's a no-no on a non preban lower so I sold it. Yesterday I ordered a bunch of parts to build a new one. I already had an M4 upper I bought a year ago so I didn't need that. What I DID order was: new bcg from BCM( MPI auto), Daniel Defense clamp on low profile .750 gas block, barrel nut, mid-length gas tube, BCM Gunfighter charging handle( MOD 4 meduium), and the topper? A new 16" BCM SS410 barrel with mid-length gas system, 1/8" twist and IONBOND. Haven't ordered it yet (need to let the credit card cool off!) but I plan on buying a Battle Comp for it and having ADCO permanently attach it for me. Also plan on DD Omega X 9.0 midlength handguards and Troy DOA front and rear sights. Not bad- only gonna cost me almost a grand to put it together!! Plus another $400 for the EOTEC. It really IS a disease, isn't it? |
| Well, all the parts are either here or on their way! The barrel, BCG, low profile gas block and gas tube all arrived VERY QUICKLY from Bravo Company. My handguards are on their way from Primary Arms. (GREAT price!!) I sent my order for my BUIS's and DD spanner wrench to Primary Arms about twenty minutes ago. Five minutes later the phone rings and it's them. The gentleman on the phone ( I can't remember his name, sorry) explained to me that they were fixing to leave for the day but my order came in so they figured they'd pack it and ship it out. When he went to pull my rear sight, the color was flat dark earth instead of black like I ordered. He apologized and told me Troy would overnight them one and the whole order would go out on Tuesday. I thought it was GREAT customer service that they called me to let me know. The guy on the phone was very friendly and apologetic. Just another reason to love Texas I guess! My Battle Comp hopefully will be on it's way on Monday then I can put it all together!! |
