I changed my stock front site post/gas block for a low-profile gas block so I could run a spectre length quad rail on my carbine. There is a bare space on the barrel now. What should I use to re-coat/cover the spot? I am worried rust or other corossion may occur. Thanks for the help!!

You could have it re-parkerized.

Another option is a high-temp coating, just make sure it cures well and expect a little discoloration from the heat.

You can use Duracoat, Alumahyde II, Moly Resin Air Dry, CeraKote Air Dry and KG GunKote Air Dry.  None require baking and after you thoroughly degrease, you can preheat the metal slightly with a hair dryer or heat gun.

AH II is great but takes almost a month to fully cure.  CeraKote, Duracoat and KG are probably the best and will fully cure in a weeks time.

Duracoat has a high temp version: DuraHeat. I've seen regular Duracoat chip off the barrel pretty easily after it gets hot.

Birchwood Casey Perma Blue works well for touch up jobs on parkerized finishes. As long as it is not a large area. It actually works better for parkerized finishes than blued.
