im new to building AR's and am currently confused. on THIS(click) upper. is the gas block aready installed or would i need to install it myself? and if i have to install it, how?

+1 That's a complete upper group with the gas block and gas tube already installed.
In option 1 on that webpage that you linked just select the optional BCM BCG with standard charging handle for an additional $135 and you're ready to install it on your complete lower half. In addition to the already fully assembled upper group they also had been test fired and ready to go. If you already have another brand of BCG with less quality than than BCM BCG, get the BCM option and use your other BCG as a spare.
