Hey guys,

I am in the middle of my second build and i am doing an spr type build. I just recieved the lower and lpk from spikes, and i love it, Thanks Tom and staff!. I was wondering if anyone had feedback on the ubr stock.

I will be putting a 20'' stealth upper on it after I complete the lower. I am also going to strap some harris bipods, troy buis, and trijicon accupoint at some later point in time.. Will probably use my Nikon for the time being once the build is done, at least until my wallet is a little heavier

Thanks in advance for feedback on the UBR by magpul.

Will post pics of lower and upgraded lpk later.

Good Day,
Stephen S.

It's a great stock for longer/front heavy guns. It's heavy enough to keep the gun more balanced, it's adjustable for any shooting style, it provides a solid cheek weld for consistent shooting, and it's build like a tank.

+1

It should but a good fit for your 20" SPR.  I put one on my 18" 458 SOCOM and it works well.

great stock for an SPR build

Pros
heavy-to balance front end heavy weapons
built like a tank
consitant cheek weld
solid lock up

Cons
Price
heavy-depending on what you are installing it on

You can get a PRS for the same price or less.

I have one on my 20"... I love it... well worth the cash.  The rifle is very well balanced (but not light) thanks to the UBR.  It's solid as a rock (which was my main reason for buying it).

Just to add...  there isn't a better stock out there if you can handle the weight and don't mind the cost.  Really it locks up solid and it is like having an A2 stock that is adjustable. Since you are building an SPR then weight probably isn't going to be a primary concern... so I say go for it.

as far as my research goes so far, I believe that you buy the stock  and a spring and buffer.. the "buffer tube" is threaded into the stock.. am i correct on this?

I had one of the pre-production UBR's.  I put it on my SBR, then my 20" heavy barrel target rifle and finally my lightweight mid-length.

I finally sold it.  As amazingly well built as it was, it was just too heavy. I replaced it with a CTR.  The CTR is now my favorite stock.

yes if you buy a UBR all you need is a spring and a buffer... do not buy a tube unless you need one for another project.

Just got my UBR on wed, its AWESOME, although i would never consider it for anything other then a SPR/ precision rifle.

All you need is a buffer and spring, it comes with a round buffer tube which the upper half of the stock is screwed on to it, which also holds the spring for the rear take down pin.

I love how solid and hefty it is, my shooting improved ten fold when i took it to the range today. Out of 3-400 rounds i have fired in it so far, I was finally able to shoot some sub MOA groups, plus it looks amazing, now some porn to sway your decision.

I have one on a lower I eventually plan to be a 10.5 or 12.5" SBR. It is heavy, but I like the weight in the back of the gun versus the front anyway. And while I know every ounce counts on some guns, it's not like the thing weighs 5 pounds.

The UBR comes with the buffer tube, stock, etc.  No need for a end plate since the buffer tube it comes with will hold the takedown spring in.  It does not come with buffer or buffer spring so that's what you'll need to buy separate.

More UBR Porn :)

Sadly... I my optics mount is still on the way... and I havn't forked over the cash for a larue/harris bipod yet (but soon).  Gun does shoot great though :)
