Has anyone here installed a front sight tower on an upper that originally came with just a gas block?  Is this out of the realm of a casual DIYer?

Thanks!

I put one of the JPs on my SBR, solid as a rock and could fine tune it for a perfect mechanical zero. Got it from bravo co.

If you have a decent drill press you can install a pinned FSB.  It's not simple, but not extraordinarily difficult either.  To use taper pins you'll need a taper pin reamer, Midway sells one for $15.  Go over to the Retro forum and ask someone to post a link to Mike_NDS's FSB installation tutorial.  Mike wrote up a good tutorial that explains how, read it then you can then decide if it's something you're capable of doing.

Thanks for the replies all.  I think that I could do it with the tools and experience level I have, but the upper I was considering isn't going to work out anyways, so I'll probably just get one that has the sight tower to begin with.
