Any tips on installing a gas tube into the FSB/gas block without bending the tube or hurting myself?  I have a PRI flip-up front sight/gas block that the gas tube hole is very tight.  I feel like I will need a hammer or pliers to get the gas tube in, and I want to check if there are any tricks to this step before I screw up a $13 gas tube.  Thanks.

Try a little bit of lube.

I tried a bit of WD-40––no luck, tried penetrating oil, still very stiff going in.  I'm afraid to pound it in with a hammer, and when I get it in, how do I get it out?

Could use a scotchbrite pad and polish the tube ,then lube it and try. The purple scotchbrite pads are a bit more abraisive than the green ones and should do what you need it to.

Did you already mount/pin the gas tube in the FSB, and can't get the tube into the upper receiver now?  One option is to separate the two - gas tube and FSB/gas block.  Mount the gas block on the barrel, slide the receiver-end of the gas tube into the upper as far as necessary to clear the gas block, then bring the gas tube forward to the gas tube and insert it/pin it.  Sometimes, that's the only way to get it done with a lo-pro gas block, so maybe that'll help in your case.

Thanks for the replies.  The gas tube is very tight going in to the gas block.  I would need to pound it in with a hammer, and then wouldn't be able to get it out without damaging it.  The gas tube is a DPMS tube, going into a PRI flip up front sight/gas block.  It goes into the upper receiver just fine, but not far enough into the gas block to put the roll pin through.

I had a gas block that would NOT accept the roll pin it came with... Fortunately I had a few spares laying around and I could get one of them started. My point is... Try a different tube! If it doesn't fit... Now you have a spare (aka: Parts for a new build).

You could try putting some steel wool on a small screw along with some Flitz and lightly polishing the gas block where the tube enters.

it should not be hard ––do not bend it and do not put it in backwards

slide it deep into the upper reciever first then into the gas block ––-pay attention to orientation

I finally got it to install easily.  I ended up taking some coarse sandpaper to the end of the gas tube and sanding it by hand with a bit of gun oil.  Got it down to a size where it would go into the gas block with a bit of twisting easily.  All is well with the world/my build, and it is now sending lead downrange without trouble.  Thanks for the tips.
