Ok...long time lurker, first time poster so be gentle.

I'm starting my first build and still can't decide on the upper.  Here is what I've got coming for the lower:
Spike's Tactical stripped lower
Daniel Defense LPK
Magpul MOE hangrip, buttstock, & hand guards too for whatever upper I decide on.

Upper Choices:
1.  Spike's complete M4 upper from AIM when they get them back in stock.  I would add a Magpul MBUS rear sight until I can afford additional optics.

2.  Stag Model 2 complete upper. (already has a rear sight, so I'd save a couple of $$ that way)  However, my question with the Stag is how does it's BCG compare to Spike's?  Would I need to upgrade to a better BCG down the road?

3.  BCM Standard 16" M4 upper with BCG & Charging handle.  From what I've found, this would be the most expensive option, but not by much.

Any thoughts/opinions are greatly appreciated.  Especially about the BCG of the Spike's vs. Stag.  Also, I know the Spike's has a 1x7 barrel and the Stag is 1x9.  That isn't a huge concern to be though.  Thanks in advance!

You started with a high quality lower,so get a high quality upper.Get BCM. ( HPT MPI ) You will not regret it.

I have a similar situation, I have a Stag lower and a Spike's. i am going to try and keep them pure breeds as far as the uppers (Stag with the Stag, Spike's with the Spike's) I know it may sound silly around here but I figure that if the uppers and lowers are from the same supplier they may work better together. Guess that is just a phobia of mine. I built a "gun show special" years ago that was not as reliable as I thought it should be. but I was young and dumb back then, I thought I could just walk the show and buy a piece here and there, not even asking who made it and it would work just fine.
Having been re-introduced to the ARFCOM community I have found out that as long as you get quality parts and do your assembly properly, you should have no problems mixing up a finely tuned machine.

Of those 3 you want the......? Well I'd want the......? You can't go wrong with any of them! Get all 3. The BCM BCG is probably the most stout, and I bet the Stag upper is the most accurate. Mix and match.

The 1-9 twist will do you just as well if not better. I would try to put that on the bottom of the list of concerns.

Thanks for the replies so far.  I'm really curious to see how the Stag BCG compares to the Spikes.  Does anyone have any info on them?
