Where can I get CLP. Went into a NAPA this morning, asked if they had any CLP lubricant and the two clerks had no idea what I was talking about.

Who sells it, and does it usually go under a different general name.

Thanks, Bob Distelcamp

Not sure if it's what you want, but Breakfree CLP in the aerosol can is usually available at walmart

Wally world, most any sporting goods store, virtually any gunshop.

Try asking for Break Free, they may not be listing it as CLP.  That Remington oil in the green/yellow can at Wally World works really well.  I've used CLP for 20+ in the Military.  But, I think I actually like this stuff a little better.  I think it has teflon in it.

Also do a little research on other brands. There are a lot of products and opinions so check them all out. I am currently checking out some of the KG Industries products (KG-1 and KG-4) based on a recommendation, time will tell. Just trying to break the CLP habit.

Do you get oil filters and spark plugs at your gun store?  Just trying to figure out why you'd buy gun lubricant at an autoparts store.

The local Napa carries Lucas Oil gun grease .. not really clp but a gun product none the less.

You won't likely find Breakfree or any other CLP in an auto parts store, but a quart of Mobil 1 would probably be just as good for lubrication purposes and much less expensive. CLP's are a compromise product. They are adequate for cleaning, lubricating and protecting, but they are not the best at any of the 3. I'm convinced that the military uses CLP because it simplifies logistics.
