Has anyone used the double pad extended bolt catch release through Bravo Company? http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/Double-Pad-Extended-Bolt-Catch-p/bolt%20catch%20-%20double%20pad%20extend.htm. It is advertised for holding the bolt open. But this looks like it can used as an extended BAD. I have the ASA sidecharger upper and this looks like it would work. If anyone has any experience with this bolt catch, with or without the ASA sidecharger would be greatly appreciated. |

It looks like it would really help for locking the bolt to the rear, but that's about it. Yep. It can't work. The best solution I've seen is putting that extra pad on the other side of the reciever. Mill the bolt catch slot all the way through, and weld a tab on the right side of the bolt stop. That way, you close the bolt with your right index finger pulling that tab down. The local smith made something like that and yeah, it is *slick.* No reach over while slung up in prone, no possibility of an inadvertent sight adjustment. |

I tried it; PITA as it catches on things. The one pictured below it is a little better as it doesn't protrude as much: http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s95/MMcfpd/bolt_catches.jpg They're both in the way if you want to change out a trigger. Did the long vertical one (top right) (BravoCO) drop down into the trigger opening like a BAD? Did the Lower Right one, drop down into the opening? Im wondering if you can use anti rotation pins with this??? It seems like they would get caught. I really want it more as a bolt release than to catch the bolt open. Any help would be appreciated. |

Bump for anyone else who may have info. Come hether Dagious and we will say "battery assist device" together and I will show you the way... I have looked at the BAD, but it really wont work with the ASA Side Charger without major modding to the receiver. http://www.americanspiritarms.com/images/products/asa-ur-ftsc-woc.jpg Unless, you know of another Magpul BAD that is different than the standard config. |

Phase 5 Tactical. If a normal AR bolt catch will work, then their lever will work. I've got 3 of them now, going to replace one of their older versions with the newest version. Phase 5 is great to work with, can't say enough about thier customer service.
