Do chrome bolts improve reliability or is it mostly cosmetic?

Quoted:
1. easy to clean 2. more corrosion resistance 3. easy to clean That's their only benefit, I've got a couple of the Young Mfg. BCG and they are nice. Their bolts are also MPI and Peened before being chromed. Yep ... really easy to clean ... you can almost wipe them clean with a dry rag .. although a little CLP or Hoppe's helps. |

Probably no change in reliability, but does have advantages noted above. IMHO, they look cool. +1 Ionbond is nice too. IMO, there is effectively zero increase in reliability (if you run wet it does not matter which you choose), but the bolt and carrier are easier to clean for sure. I have positive experiences with Young N/M and BCM Ionbond BCG's. |
