I finally took the plunge and learned to build my own guns. This is my first, I didnt build the lower though, thats my next project. The specs on the upper are:
-CMMG midlength barrel 1x7 CL -DD midlength FF rail -ACOG TA31F -TD shorty grip -Surefire 6P LED in LT mount -Magpul XTM,s -and home done krylon of course

I like painted guns because they're different than most everything else.
What color Krylon did you use? the lighting in the pics almost makes the color look FDE-ish, but I have never been able to find a Krylon product anywhere close to FDE. I Kryloned a lower and a stock with a satin tan that I found in a closeout bin. It turned out fine, but the tan is pretty light. Congrats on your first upper build. I'll be doing my first pretty soon. And yep, it'll be painted, too. |

Looks nice congrats, I also hunted paint for some time until I found this :
http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/sid=42939/pid=1117/sku/Coyote?review=1 Best match I could find for the Magpul DE color, not the easiest material to work with or apply though, it takes a little prep and care to work evenly, and I would definitely pick up a few spare tips if you do not plan on using the whole can in one sitting. But over all very durable once it sets. |
