| I did not like the ambi adaptor, the charging handle is well, a charging handle...hehe. I took the ambi adaptor out today and put the standard release back in. I traded the part back to the place I bought it for a box of Hornady 75gr BTHP Match. As for shooting it, I have not had a chance yet. I hope to remedy that next weekend as this one is completely full and I do not have spare time during the week. It is literaly killing me not to shoot this gun...lol. As for the barrel it is esentially the same specs as a Noveske N4 barrel. The low profile gas tube that came with it was a Larue or something realy similar and was made out of steel. It is pinned and had a single screw, you can make out the pin in the barrel close up. I would also like to give two big thumbs up to Centurion Arms and ADCO Firearms for their great customer service and super fast shipping turn around. I ordered my DD rail from ADCO on Friday night, it shipped on Saturday and I got it on Monday all for $4.00, simply outstanding. |

I had a chance to take it to the range Sunday evening. Got it zeroed to 50yds and tried a few different types of ammo through it. Federal XM193 55gr, Brown Bear 62gr HP, Hornady 75gr BTHP, Prvi Partisan 75gr BTHP, Prvi Partisan 69gr BTHP and some Guatamalan 55gr FMJ a friend had. I only had time to shoot one 5 shot group per ammo type and the results were a little suprising. I quickly measured the groups and put them into a ranking. They are ranked most accurate to least. I was shooting from a bench with a bag and a 2MOA Aimpoint. All ammo functioned flawlessly. Remember this was shot at 50yds.
1. Brown Bear 62gr HP, aprox 3/4" group 2. Prvi Partisan 69gr BTHP, aprox 1" group 3. Prvi Partisan 75gr BTHP, aprox 1.5" group 4. Hornady 75gr BTHP, aprox 2" group 5. Guatamalan 55gr FMJ, aprox 3" group 6. Federal XM193 55gr FMJ, aprox 4" group The Prvi 75 and Hornady were almost to close to call. The Brown Bear shot a sub 1" group (I did measure that one) The rest were 1.5 - 4" with the Federal being the worst by a large margin. Hopefully this Sunday I will have a chance to go shoot with a little more time and hit the 100yd range now that Im zeroed at 50. As for the Centurion barrel, I feel that it will shoot the guaranteed 1MOA with proper ammo that the company advertises. The rifle obviously likes the mid weight bullets 62-69gr. I will post again if I get to shoot on Sunday. Thanks! |

Kinda shocking with the Brown Bear... Did you clean your barrel between shooting the groups? Barrel fouling may screw up your later groups if you're not careful. Also, a hot barrel will also give you slightly worse off groupings.
Other than that, really nice looking rifle. Pictures with the optics attached |
| I actually shot the XM193 and Guat surplus first and no I didnt clean between groups. I shot 20 rounds to zero and then 6 five shot groups through a brand new barrel, I cant think dirt or heat would have been a problem shooting 50 rounds slowly. With a 1 in 7 barrel I would say the results are about what I was expecting, with the exception of how well the Brown Bear shot. The Aimpoint was a loaner from my friend just to test the accuracy of the build a little better than iron sights. I will be going with a T1 micro eventually but that will be a few months off while I recover not just financialy but with the wife...hehe. |
| I went with the 16" because I didnt want to mess with having the flash hider pinned. The rifle will maybe be marginaly more accurate but that was not realy a consideration, just a side effect. I am not against 14.5 inch barrels or perm attached flash hiders, I just didnt want that on this gun. For the record Centurion does offer a 14.5" barrel, you just have to ask them about it, its not advertised. |
