I started out last year wanting an LMT.  Never having the money for a complete one, I just started buying parts.

My rifle started off as an LMT factory lower with single stage trigger and 6 position stock.

Later I added an M&A 14.7 non  chrome 1/9 M4A3 upper and a set of primary arms railed hand guards.

I then replaced the upper with a LMT A3 upper with CMMG 16" M4 chrome lined 1/7 barrel with feedramps and a set of KAC M4 RAS.

I am awaiting my Vltor Modstock at the moment, and then I should be able to post pics of it.  Here is a list of all that is in the rifle counting the mod stock.

I know it is not like one of my ground up builds, but I think all together I have less that 650 in the rifle (I did lots of swapping) and I think it is mostly top notch stuff.  Tell me what you think.

Part list.

LMT Lower w/ LMT milspec buffer ext.

Vltor Modstock in FDE

Magpul MIAD in FDE

Rock River Arms two stage trigger system.

LMT M4 A3 upper

CMMG 16" M4 profile 1/7 chrome lined barrel.

Magpul MBUS in FDE on the rear.

LMT M16 BCG.

LMT Charging Handle w/ Badger ordnance tactical latch.

KAC M4 RAS w/ Magpul XTM covers in FDE and Black

Opinions?

My standard optic was an Eotech 5.11, but I sold it off last week, debating if I want a 552, or an aimpoint.  Not sure which way I will go on this.

I think you should have held out for a complete LMT upper but that's just me. If your happy with the build and it's accurate and reliably then that's all that matters

I would have just bought a complete LMT upper instead of ruining it with a CMMG barrel

I like the CMMG 14.7"
PS: I have a 14.5" LMT upper from Bravo, and it is very accurate with 55gr WWB.

As soon as I can find an LMT 14.5 for a deal good enough to replace my CMMG for no cost to me, I will be doing it, but for now, the deal was on the CMMG, it was 1/7 and it was chrome, so it went on the upper.  Don't really care for the 16" M4 barrels myself.  I think the look goofy.  That being said, I would be happy for the rest of my life with the barrel I have now.

I agree...I have a brand new CMMG 16" CL 1 in 7 w/ ramps M4 upper under the work bench right now. I want to cut it down, but I am going to wait until I take it to the range for a try out. Who knows, it might be a good rig.

I am not a big fan of CMMG and if i were building an all brand X rifle, i would stick to that...

besides it's way easier to find a complete LMT upper than it is a stripped LMT upper

Where did you find an LMT upper receiver by itself?  They don't usually sell just the receiver.
