I know that this is not the show off thread but since I got so much help here I wanted to post here first.

Both are built from tactical Machine 80% lowers and I still have one more completed lower that I need to decide what to do with it.

Anyway, thanks everyone for the help :)

My first,

  • Command Arms 6 pos stock

  • DS Arms 16" pre-ban upper, just a basic shooter with a low $ investment

  • BUIS

My latest is a bit more involved;

  • TM 80% lower

  • Bushmaster Varmiter Upper with 20" fluted barrel & free float tube

  • Bravo Arms "Gun Fighter charging handle

  • Timney 4# skeletonized trigger

  • Magpul enhanced trigger guard

  • Magpul PRS Stock

  • Panther pistol grip

  • Nikon Monarch 5.5-16.5x 44 Scope

  • Larue Scope mount, on order

  • Harris Bipod, length still TBD

LOL... actually is is not even mounted yet, I just placed it on the rail for the picture. The finish is Dura Coat, I am still hesitant to send my completed lowers out for anodizing. I am getting ready to put a home anodize station together and try my hand at that.

Couple questions...

Is that a UTG BUIS on the first rifle?  I handled one of those at a fun show and it was like a bobble head doll.  It would jiggle ever ytime you touched it.  And yeah, you have it on backwards!  lol

On the second rifle, can you actually get eye relief with the objective lens that far to the rear?  I usually have to mount my scopes so the eyepiece is right above or just in front of the charging handle.

I do not believe it is a UTG, I do not remember the packaging but I bought it from DS Arms. It seems pretty rigid once mounted.
I have not set the scope yet, my Larue mount should be in tomorrow, once I receive it I will set the scope up and then it will be time to get to the range. I have not even fired either rifle yet.

Oh ok... Do yourself a favor and keep it forward as much as you can.  You can thank me after you shoot it.

You won't get scope eye from a 5.56, but you might develop a serious krick in your neck from trying to keep proper eye relief in various positions!  lol  It's also MUCH easier to grab the charging handle if the scope is forward as much as possible.

I wasn't trying to rip on him, and I'm certainly no expert.  Just trying to pass along my own experiences and they are worth exactly what he paid for them.

I'm sorry if anyone thought I was being a know-it-all.

Rest assured, I did not take it that way.
I was excited to get a couple of the rifles in a position suitable to take a couple of pictures. Be assure I will not post pictures in the future unless I carefully script the content, ensure lighting is adequate, have a suitable backdrop and the firearms are totally finished and everything is mounted correctly.
