I have an EA lower I want to learn more about, specifically if it's ever been a rifle.  I bought it about a year or so ago from a guy and while it doesn't LOOK like it's been assembled I was wanting to build a Pistol out of this.

I've tried contacting EA through their website but that got me no where.  Does anyone know a website or national registlry I can look at?  Probably a stupid question but I can't think of where to start looking.  Purchased in NV if that matters.

EA? Eagle Arms?

If so there will be a white armorers stamp on teh front of the mag well if it was an assembled rifle when it left the factory. Otherwise is was sold as a stripped lower.

Also if the SN is < 30000 then it is most likely also a pre-ban lower and of considerable value to citizens of less enlightened states (or Commonwealths).

You will prolly never know if the lower has had a stock on it unless the original owner is honest & advises such. Trying to search the history of the lower online will not tell you this.

How could I find out if it was sold as a stripped lower vs complete rifle?  Don't really want to just assume it and screw up big time.

Why not buy a new lower and not deal with the hassle? Risk vs reward is not good on this.

Because I already have this lower and it doesnt look like it's ever been touched by a buttstock.  Only has the trigger guard and bolt release installed I just wonder about this one.  If possible I'd just want to know if it was sold as a stripped lower and I could start there.  I wasn't sure if there was a way to search a national registry to see if it's been registered as a rifle anywhere.

This!

Don't screw around, buy a new dedicated pistol lower  if you must have a AR pistol & call it a day!

That is pretty much the only option here.  Escpecially when a new lower can be had for around or under $100.  Why risk an NFA violation over $100?
