I just picked up 3 DSA blem lowers today delivered to my FFL.  If those are blemished, they are better than my factory RRA.  I haven't found a problem on them yet.  I got sequentially # lowers, too, which is cool, but not that big of a deal.  They look like super lowers.

Anywho, I had already bought 2 CMT LPKs and got started tonite assembling the lowers. I dont have a vise available for a lower block, so it really was challenging, especially so since it was my first time ever trying this. The only blems now are a single little ding that a sharpie covered right up.  Good grief the bolt catch pin is a booger(the ding on each) as well as the front take down buffer.  No joke, they are more difficult than the guides show.

Well, I just wanted to share my experience and let you all know that the DSA lowers are GTG, better than some manufacturer firsts.

Thanks for the aar on the lowers.  Next time use tape on the lower and tape on the punch when you install the pins.

Oh, I did use tape.  2 Layers of painters masking tape.  It would have worked fine if I hadn't had to use the hammer of Thor grip strength on my Vise Grip pliers.  The one little rough area on the face edge of the pliers just made a very small mark on both lowers.
Considering that I didnt use a vise, I feel I cheated really screwing it up.  Next lower will be done on a vise because I dont have enough hands.

I don't understand why you think a vise would be helpful when installing a LPK.  I've done a bunch, and never felt I needed one.

I have done 5 without a vise and they are all perfect, I had to be creative with my tools and how to support the lower, and now I have my own special/weird way of doing lowers. Next time use electrical tape and lots of it, and get a smaller hammer. Oh and Sears sells 1$ punches that work great.

Good to hear that the DSA Blems came out without Blems.

Where did you get DSA blems?  Direct from DSA?

Oh yeah.  They have several threads on here about them, and DSA has the listing in the EE-Complete rifles & lowers.  Basically, just call them up.  If you want less than 10, thay are $60+shipping.  Anything over 10, and they are $55 with free shipping.

One thing to consider is that they are also selling complete lowers with LPK and stock kit installed for $180(with free shipping for 2 or more).  If you price out the lower, LPK, and stock kit with seperate shipping for evrything but the lowers, you come out about as cheap(with no work to be done assembling either) buying the complete lower as opposed to the stipped lower and then adding the parts.  That is, of course, you dont want anything more than the M4 stock which is on a milspec buffer(the real deal milspec per Roger at DSA).

No, I dont work for DSA seeing as how I.m in SC, but they have some great value going on right now.

For the sake of not putting out any other vendors, there are several other good values for other name brands if you just check this and the next couple of pages of threads concerning lower availability.  I just picked DSA because I know they are a quality name brand in FAL rifles.

lizARdman15, I did some reading and checking and I also ordered 3 after deciding the DSA blem lowers all seem to get good reviews. A question to you, how long from the time you ordered them to when they arrived at your FFL?...Thanks for your post and the encouraging words about the DSA blems. I have not heard one bad thing about them from anyone that has recieved them, only some sour grapes from a couple of seemingly spoiled little brats who wanted them NOW....<><....:)

It took about 3 weeks from order to pickup.  Now, the complete lowers I ordered at the same time, they have not even notified me of shipping yet.  I believe they are having trouble getting the stocks(the plastic portion of the kit) as I have not recieved the stock kits I ordered as well that go on the lowers I just assembled.
Patience is a virtue, but I admit sometimes I wished they were faster about filling the order.  Maybe I am not as virtuous as I think!!
