| I'm starting to plan a SBR build, trying to decide between a piston system and direct gas, I've heard that the short direct gas systems can be finicky, is it enough of an issue to warrant the cost of a piston? |

Short DI systems can be tricky to get going, but once running, no more worries. I don't think it is enough of a problem to warrant the extra AMMO money on a piston. However, if you decide to go piston, then the Adams Arms system is a GREAT retrofit system. I have been running one they sent me to try on a 7.5", and it works every bit as well as my DI systems (which believe me, is A LOT to say for pistons, in my opinion/ experience). Edit for linky. |

Purchase a barrel that is ALREADY short (pistol), or buy a barrel and send it here for cut down and rethread. We will adjust the gas hole for the length. Please keep in mind, anything over 10.5" should run without any trouble. I am talking about down around 7.5". |
