Anyone making a lower that says Safe / Semi / Auto for the Ar-15?
I have seen the pictogram style but not the standard ones. Please don't ask why, I just think it would be neat. |

the only issue i would see with having the auto stampings, even without it being full auto, is it might give a bullheaded LEO something to work at you with, give you a little more of a hard time about. another reason to detain you longer and look harder. I wonder if that could count as probable cause to search your car/house/person for a full auto kit? |

Yea thats the pictogram set up. I am more looking for the traditional set up.
The issue has been discussed before. There's no auto sear pin hole in the receiver...and its one pull one shot...its legal. Maybe a company out there that will stamp it for me before finishing the receiver? |

I wonder if that could count as probable cause to search your car/house/person for a full auto kit? no it can not... the only way it could is if someone drilled or attempted to drill the hole for the auto sear... <–– is called intent to manufacture... ETA: Fidelis sells "blank" lowers for $99.00 and for $150 they will do a custom engraved roll mark, have them do safe semi auto also... |

I can understand his request. Two months ago when I was gearing up to start my first build I wanted the S/S/A text or pictogram too. Why... because I could. I went with the Mega forged lower which does not have the auto selection because I love the quality of the lower versus the auto plackard. Quality OVER stuff we really can't have anyway. The Governator who loves auto in his movies sold us out!!!
Cheers, MfS

I built my wife's AR on a Spikes Tactical lower with safe, semi, and full pictograms. I love it. Didnt get the color fill since I am not a HK fan and didnt like the look and she really doesnt care either way. The lazer engraving is awesome and it looks really nice. She likes it!!!! And when mama's happy, dad gets to buy stuff |

How many of them do you think know to look for an extra pin hole. Or even care to. I just said probable cause, I didn't say you would be arrested. |

Explain to us why you think this constitutes PC for a search. |

Explain to us why you think this constitutes PC for a search. I realize it would be pretty rare for this to happen. But this is what I imagined. I've always been told that when you get pulled over, you should tell the officer if you have any weapons in the car. The theory is, better he know ahead of time than find them and get pissed. Now I would think that if an officer did see this weapon, and saw that it "looks" like it could be set to fully auto, that would be a reason to further question the matter and possibly search for anything else. I didn't mean to originally state this as some kind of fact. I was merely pointing out that at first glance, this weapon could appear to be illegal, causing a further search. Similar to having a fake silencer on a pistol. Even though it's fake, it would take a minute for an officer to realize it wasn't. But during that time he might not be too happy with you. And because of his unhappiness, he might feel like using this to search your car since he can't take you in for a silencer you might not be allowed to own. I know it's a far shot, but I don't see it outside the realm of possibilities. |
