So a friend of mine called me, said he was upset he bought a bushmaster lower and it was marked 6.8, I said ok? He said yea you wanna buy it because it wont work with a .223. I said really if you wanna sell it ill give you 60 bucks for it... a few moments later I have a brand new bushmaster lower for 60 bucks.
Needless to say I got a really good deal I think. "and yes I know the lower will work with .223, 6.8 or what ever upper I decide to go with" |

Hey toddflying2782 - I'm with you man. ...if somebody dumps a lower because its marked 6.8... and says it won't work with .223/5.56... and/or it doesn't "jive" b/c its not the right color, tone, make, markings, etc. to the point where it makes absolutely no sense... I don't know all the reasons your buddy has, and maybe its not worth discussing... but maybe he needs to get a clue. Anybody serious about AR's, had better spend hours, days, years on this website and others. Learn, read, Google, ask. I'm not saying most folks don't know anything... plus no one has gobs of time & money. But if all the AR-15/M-16 world's data, literature, tools, and information was right in front of you, and you had tools like Google and AR15.COM, you better read it or weep. I did that in 98 before buying my first AR. And I'm still learning. What I'm saying is that some things are BASIC Knowledge... like Army Basic Training for any US Army Soldier. Knowing that a 6.8 lower is exactly the same as a .223/5.56 lower is one of them. |

Oh shit I just realized that I need to buy "Multi" caliber ammo for my Spike/BCM rifle. Does anybody know where can I buy that at a good price? And I still need to find the "Any" key... BTW my OCD would not allow me to put a .223/5.56 barreled upper on a lower marked differently... |
