Picked up a striped billet lower today from U.S. Firearms Academy! Great guys there. Now I'm trying to figure all that should go into it.

This is what I have planned so far...

DD LPK
Magpul MIAD
UBR stock
BCM 16' Middy Upper and BCG
Gunfighter CH
Troy BUIS

Apart from that, I'm not sure what to do for rails.
I think I'll go FF on this, and maybe an extended length.

And optic wise, the dream is a ACOG. Not sure about the various models.

Anything else I'm forgetting, or opinions?

Thanks,
MF

Congrats! I bought my first lower on a whim, at a gun store several years back. It was a LOT of fun seeing it all come together.

What sort of budget are you looking at for your rail? BCM carries Midwest Industries rails for pretty reasonable prices ($130ish, I believe). Also, YHM has some great prices on some nice looking rails as well.

They mostly go up, from there...

DD and Larue rails are top notch, but I don't really care for the looks of them.
I think I'll end up going with Troy. I have the drop in, carbine length rails on my rifle, they're good. I think I'd be happy with their FFers.

For close to the same price of a BCM middy upper, would it be worth getting a Vltor MUR and BCM barrel instead?

Thanks,

i would get a billet upper to match your lower
DD rails are extremely light and have a thinner profile than others which makes them comfortable to grab even with rail panels on
