after reading about bill springfield and his triggers and all i decided to send mine out to have the 4lb pull on it like you guys suggested. FIRST OFF in no way am i bashing bill he is a guy and took care of the problem. i mailed my trigger out on a wed. and made sure with him it would be back by not the next Friday but the following one because i like to shoot every weekend and this gun is still new to me so i want to shoot it. well one weekend goes by no shoot no crap didn't expect him to even receive the trigger by then. friday of the second weekend guess what!!! u guess it i have my trigger. wait whats this only 2 pieces came back shit. call him up and he says he didn't see it.. no way dude i sent it for sure. ok i found it ill send that rite out send me a email with your name and address again. ok bill. so i sent the email and received one back telling me it has bin shipped out now. so next Thursday come i call him up because that was a friday i called and doing all this. hey bill i didn't receive my trigger. oh yea i told you to send me a email with your address. yes bill i did i and you sent me a email back saying it was shipped. oh ok well it should have bin there if it doesn't come by Friday call me and ill send another one out. nope not here. ok sent you another one at this point i get a sorry about that for the first time lol. no problem its cool. monday come around. yes finally got it! wait whats this a DPMS 308 3lb trigger label on the bag. call him up and asked him about it and he said he just threw it in any old bag. lol almost gave my self a heart attack. lol
when ever you have a shop and deal with alot of people things will go wrong no matter how hard you try to keep shit strait and i know that so i never lost my cool or anything. and yes i would and will get work done from him again. the work.... the pull is the same as it was before. i wish went with the 3lb being i said i was just using the gun to shoot targets and it was a bench gun. i knew i should have got the 3lb. it has no play breaks like glass i love it. however the reset was that supposed to be changed also? i think i might make something to make the thing a ma bob (dont know what u call it) not catch so much. so basically just telling my story and wanted to know about the reset |

bin= been Also, I have been more than satisfied with my experiences with Mr Springfield. He has done two triggers for me and both were as advertised. Not saying your transaction didn't have issues, but your post has issues... Which package did you get? Not sure which would be good for me. I want the best trigger possible, use my rifle for mostly benched target practice... Is there a websight that will tell me how to take my trigger and hammer out? I have no idea.. |

Not saying your transaction didn't have issues, but your post has issues... +1 Bill's done two triggers for me also, with noticeable improvement on both, one a RR Match which was supposed to be gtg, but was sadly lacking. I'm sending another off to him tomorrow. |

It's fairly simple, remove the hammer pin, then remove the trigger pin. Look when you remove the two parts and notice the way the springs go. |

Bill does good work for what it is. If you are expecting a match quality trigger then you are expecting too much. You will get an improvement over a mil spec trigger. If you want something nicer it's going to cost you more for a drop in trigger or something custom matched to your lower by a good smith.
I've had two 3lb triggers done by Bill and one of them measured 3 1/2 lbs and the other 4 1/2 lbs. The both break like glass without any creep. My 4 lb measured 5 1/2 lbs but again no creep and breaks like glass. All 3 are a vast improvement over what I started with and were money well spent. |
| well i have two of the EXACT same guns me and my buddy both bought at the same time. smith and wesson M&P15 and i have the one that i sent out and the one that my buddy didnt. same pull. can see he did work and yea it breaks like glass. but no the pull is the same. is there a way for me to measure the pull with say a weight scale for fishing or something ? i had the 4lb pull with speed hammer done to mine. should have went with the three thats my fault not his |

Holy crap, this thread is full of absolutely butchered English! Try using commas, quotes, paragraphs, and spell check, people.
I've had Bill do 2 triggers for me; 1 RRA 2stg 4lb, 1 std. 3lb. I actually like the std 3lb better but both were great improvements and the transactions went very smoothly. |

It may be in fact lighter and you just have a hard time telling. |

I likerunonsentencesandparagraphsorlakof A bunch of cans in a bag hung off the trigger will work batter than a fishing scale. Just know how much the cans weigh. Or you could by a real scale (not digital, unless it's calibrated). I'll be sending off three to Bill this week. 458 |

Bill is a crapshoot. He did two 4lbs for me that are wonderful, and a third that is unsafe...safety is wrong, gun doubled, followed and did all kinds of unsafe and illegal shit.
Bill is reasonably priced, and if he gets it right, you're golden. If he buggers things up, you're on your own. Moon |

How long does it usually take from the day you send your trigger in till the day you get it back? Is the 3lb package good? Any real reason to get the 2.5lb? Its only 5 bucks more... I dont know anything about triggers so dont know which one to get... Unless you've spent a lot of time behind a trigger. Get the 4 lb. I've only been shooting these thing's for close to 40 yrs. and would not or need anything less, on a single stage std. FCG 458 |

Moon Interesting, I was testing one of his triggers on a friends gun and if I let out the reset real slow it would fire letting the trigger out! I don't trust trigger jobs on stock surface hardened parts and like The RRA two stage for all round work and it's safety and clean break. Still, if a guy has little money and keeps his barrel down range without a Beta mag installed, I guess it's ok. Also,,I don't get my panties in a bunch over spelling and I use good trigger scales intended for firearms. |
| I had a trigger done by him, it was alright when I first got it but when I took it to the range on Saturday the hammer would not reset after firing the first round. I broke it down three times and cleaned and it same thing. Tried different springs, nothing changed. Needless to say, its going back to him tomorrow to either get a new trigger or my money back. |

| i never said i used a scale. i said i had 2 of the same guns next to each other pulled the trigger and the weight felt the same. as far and the rest of the stuff that worrys me because mine "almost fires with the safety on. i wish there was a topic like this before i sent my trigger out. |

There have been a lot of threads about Springfield triggers, you just have to search. Also, having two of the exact same model of gun DOES NOT in any way mean they will have identical triggers. read a tun and mad a few no real negative feedback like in this thread. well my buddys smith and wesson m&p 15 has as good of a factory trigger (just weight mine has no creak his had enough for both of us) as my smith and wesson m&p 15 with a springfield 4lb pull trigger edit: just emailed him about the weight and the "hair trigger function" i have on my gun |

Given my personal experience with Bill Springfield trigger jobs (10) and the many, many, many positive reviews his work gets here, Insult removed, warning sent-Aimless I'm not going to give a second thought to sending more triggers to him or recommending his work to friends. |

If you want the best trigger possible, then I would suggest you get something other than a Springfield system.. His stuff is modified stock triggers. Nothing wrong with his reworks, but if you want a fully adjustable or a 2-stage trigger then get something else. |
