I admit I'm fresh to rifles and the ar platform, but I wanna build my own slowly on a college budget. I live in Missouri now, but may be moving to California in the future for an art job.  I wanna start with the lower since that's the big deal and so one that would be good to go anywhere and that appears to be what I'd need is on sale.  The link for reference is:

I'm lefthanded, would I be able to put a safety selector on the left hand side or better yet, both sides?  I understand that being a leftie, some things I'm out of luck on and can accommodate as necessary.  Anyhow, will this lower work out just fine and then I just buy a parts kit to work from there?  I know I sound like an idiot, but I don't have any familiarity with the platform, but working on them isn't intimidating.

Thanks in advance for any help, I appreciate it.

Edit: link hot

Any lower would work fine. It only holds the pins in place and mostly comes down to what logo you want on the side of it. Spikes and Mega machine are probably two of the best.
As for the safety you would probably go with a ambi. which will give you a lever on each side of the reciever.

Also check the build section on this forum. This helped me alot when I started.

Spikes seems to get lowers from a bunch of different sources, so I have no idea who made that lower. Essential Arms has reasonably priced lowers and I am familiar with their quality. Most lowers are fine and there are plenty of lowers in that price range these days.

You can buy an ambi dextrous safety that has a lever on both sides
