Need to get a BUIS.  Which one should I get?  I assume Troy is the #1 recommended brand right?  (Besides the uber expensive LaRue of course...)

Dioptic:

or

Standard:

Although I'm not going to buy a tritium sight, how hard is it to replace the tritium when it goes dim several years later?

Thanks,

Leon

The Larue sight IS a Troy sight.

I have the Troy D.O.A. flip up rear and the Troy A4 style flip up front on an Armalite 16'' upper. I really like D.O.A.

I also have the standard Troy flip up rear battle site on a OLY 7.62 x 39 ss 16'' carbine with the attached front site. It also kicks ass.

The Armalite has an EOtech that I co-witnessed with the D.O.A. I tend to use the BUIS on this rifle a lot and really have fallen in love with the D.O.A.

The OLY has a Zeiss conquest on it so I never really use the standard rear flip up.

Both sites are awesome, regardless of which one you go with make sure you use a bit of lock-tight on it. The screws go loose very easy.

Troy is incredibly simple and very easy to deploy. I purchased both sites from weaponsparts.com for $70.00 a few months back when they were on sale and I have never looked back.

I actually have a question about the di-optic rear sight.. not to hijack your thread or anything. If you look at the pictures given on the site, you can see that in one of them there are white crosshairs on the sight around the opening. However, there in no option to have those added when you check out. How do you get a rear sight with the crosshairs on it?

padfoot - The cross hairs you are talking about is on all the D.O.A.s, It's painted on the side that faces you. When the site is in the down position, the side facing up has no cross-hairs. When you flip it up and look through you see the cross-hairs. Its pretty cool and actually help me to focus.

You won't even be able to see the lines as your focus is on the intended target and front sight post.
