I personally would go a 14.5" upper with a pinned flash hider that is also a mount for a suppressor, should you ever want to mount one on the gun.  This way you get the flash hider and since it is pinned, mounting a suppressor conventionally is a no-go, so in order to not decrease the usability of your rifle, having a muzzle device pinned to make it the legal minimum length that can also serve as a mount for a suppressor I feel is a good idea.  Also, having an overall barrel length of 16" may not seem like much on paper, but if the gun is going to see more than normal range use you will enjoy the shorter barrel.  Plus, the mid-length gas system and the 14.5" barrel makes for an easy shooting, robust, and reliable semi auto carbine.
Like this Noveske Afghan which also comes with the Switchblock, ideal for suppressor use.

I love the noveske barrels but god they are expensive. But then again I'm going all out with this build. Are there any other companies that have that silver bead blasted look like the noveskes?

Sabre Defense, then White Oak. i'd go for those barrels in that order if i couldn't get a Noveske.
