I have just registered and I am building my first AR....I have the DPMS lower with the trigger group and a magpul carbine stock set....I am going to put on a optics ready upper and would like some advice from people who have actually used the uppers they tell me about...Don't want a brand war just plain simple facts about your experinence with what upper you used. I am not doing alot of shooting, just want somthing reliable and accurate. Thanks for the replies..........

| Welcome to the forum. My only experience with uppers is LMT and Mega. The jury is still out on the Mega upper only because I'm not sure if I installed my forward assist slightly incorrectly or if the upper may be slightly out of spec. I think the Mega lower was because it wouldn't accept my Rock River Arms two stage trigger. What specifically are you asking about the upper? Is it the look or finish that you want feedback on. The Mega is very dark (almost black) and the LMT looks like the more traditional dark gray finish. Rock Rivers are supposed to have very tight tolerances although I have no first hand experience. What kind of barrel are you getting? Do you need the receiver to have M4 cuts? |

I went with the DPMS upper with the M4 feedramp and 4 rail gas block. I got it for $437 with the complete bolt group so I think I did ok...The molly chrome barrel is a plus for me. I am going to put MI folding sights and a EO tech sight. I will post pics when I get it together......
