Hey guys, nice forum

I've been lurking around quite a bit looking for info, and am not having much luck. I bought a RRA lower and was going to try and find a upper to slap it together. But after thinking to much I opted to go with something more custom. I ordered a Sabre Defense CMV 18" fluted 1:7 twist barrel and I am unsure what upper receiver will work with it. It has to have M4 feed ramps right? I was going to get the RRA upper but, all that list it, say that it don't have M4 feed ramps. Will a upper receiver come with the nut to fasten the barrel on, or does that come with the barrel? Is installing the barrel something I can do myself? I'm pretty mechanically inclined, but kinda dumb with the AR build.

Thanks for the help

Do some reading here. There are articles, with pictures, of how to put this thing together. As far are what comes with the barrel, it depends on how you buy it. Some do not come with a barrel nut or delta ring assembly, you will need to add that. But, are you going to free float it? Then the barrel nut part may well come with the FF tube.

There is another thread that shows the feed ramp combinations that work, and the ones that don't work. If the barrel has the cuts but the receiver doesn't, that will work. Some even do a little customer work to match the ramps. If the receiver has the ramps but the barrel doesn't, that's bad, the nose of the round can catch on the lip. A lot has been written about all the things you have asked about. Do a little searching, you can learn a lot here.

An Aero Precision upper is an excellent value at $60.00, they have M4 feed ramps.
I am not sure I can give the website without a rules violation?
