I am trying to build a lightweight piston carbine using the Adams Arms kit, but am having problems finding a barrel. Does anyone sell a 16in lightweight, 5.56 chamber, chrome-lined 1/7, stripped barrel with M4 ramps, and a .750 gasblock area for a reasonable price? Or should I be looking to find something I can send to Adco for a reprofiling job?

Thanks.

The 1/7 is gonna make it a lot harder to find. If you are willing to go 1/9, I got some from Midway a few months ago.

I would prefer 1/7, but would entertain 1/9. Which bbl on Midway are you referring to? The only lightweight that I saw on their site was a Model 1 bbl, non chrome lined and .223 chambered, not 5.56.

Not sure if this will work for you, but you may check out CMMG's  website under the Govt. Profile barrels. GI profile may not be true "superlight" assemblies like Bushmaster or others sell.  They have  1/7 twist, chrome bore, 5.56 chamber. I think the FSB area looks a little thicker than the true "A1"  .625 type assembly. Mine shoots great, I have a 14.7" with perm hider (that they no longer sell) and a 16" of this type.

Model 1 has a 1:9 chrome lined  lightweight 16" E.R. Shaw barrel in 5.56 that looks like it has a .750" gas block area (which I assume you want for the piston kit's gas block).

Yeah, that's been about the only one I've been able to find as well. I was hoping that maybe someone knew of someplace selling that profile minus the FSB, but I'll probably end up giving them a call on Monday to order one.
