| Well this is my first post and tomorrow i will be buying my first AR parts for my first AR/buildup. What are some of your thoughts on the S&W lower receiver. From what i could tell of the lowers my local shop has in stock it has the best attention to detail when it comes to machining. |

How much?
I really like my Kaiser Defense lower and PK (site sponsor) has them on sale right now for $130. Kaiser Defense lower |
| I have one on my dedicated 22 and like it alot. The guy who put it together for me also did 2 Spikes lowers for me and said that it went together the easiest of the 3. As long as it's a reasonable price I say go for it. Spikes Tactical has theirs on sale for $89 right now but by the time you pay shipping and transfer at your local FFL it may run you more. |
| YOU'LL BE REALLY HAPPY with a Smith & Wesson lower receiver.I bought two and I like them because of the attention to details. They are one of the best machined lowers out there.I've compared several.Them and Rock River Arms both are machined and finished very good.I would choose the Smith over the Rock River if you ever wanted to sell it.The Smith & Wesson will have a higher resale value than most |

I built my first AR back in the spring on a S&W lower and love it. Over a thousand rounds through that lower now. Now if I could get another one for that price here in MD (one local dealer wants $249 for an "R-Guns" lower and $279 for a Fulton lower |

well Got my s&w lower, a dpms lrpk and a tapco collapsible stock. You will be happy with the lower and the LPK. Can't guarantee the TAPCO stock will please you though. Maybe it will, but they don't have the best rep around here. Post how you like it after you finish building. |

price was right and i did not have 200 dollars for what i really wanted but this will save me some cash towards my upper and stuff. would of went with a dpms or something of that sort but he did not have any on stock. As a temp, that TAPCO stock will probably to fine then. I'm still shopping for a rifle-length stock myself, but I'll probably settle for a standard A2 stock until I find "the right one." |
| I picked one up a while ago for abit more than you paid ($200). I knew at the time i was overpaying abit but this was durring the height of the "buy every AR in sight period" Looks great havent ahd a chance to build it yet (been waiting on the upper for almost 6 months) |

well started assembling my lower and of course sent both of the brake down dents flying i guess i get to order some new ones. Do yourself a favor and go buy a 1/4" diameter clevis pin at Home Depot or Lowes (or a real hardware store if you can find one) that is at least 2" long. Mine is about 2 1/2" long and has a bunch of holes through it. Now, use the clevis pin like the TM (page 3-72) tells you to use the "locally fabricated tool" except you'll use a punch to rotate the pin. Works like a charm and is almost entirely foolproof. |
