Sorry if this has to be moved. What do yall think about an AR-15 in 6.8 SPC. i will be using this rifle for Long range shooting comps. And hunting deer in colorado.

I think the 6.5 grendal is better suited for long range applications. I feel the 6.8 excels in SBR and medium range work. (0-500m) I'm putting together a 16" stainless 6.8 upper for a lightweight deer rifle. Good performance and legal in some states that .223 isnt.

Define long range shooting.  As for deer hunting in Colorado, use SSA's Combat Load Accubonds, keep the shots under 350 yards, and you have a winner.

The 6.8 should be good out that far.  Just keep the deer inside 350 and you should be good to go.  If you don't reload, Silver State Armory has loaded 100gr and 110gr Accubonds, which should be outstanding for deer.
