I just completed my first lower build with a RRA lower and RRA LPK, 6-pos tele-stock...all is juicy and good with that.... I'll personally never buy another fully built rifle again....this is too easy.

Now I need to select my upper and I'm really dizzied by my choices.   The build I am going for is:

- 16 inch middy OR 14.5 inch carbine
- will piece together all components
- not on the cheap
- weight is an issue

I have the following questions:

1) Should I go completed upper or stripped upper?
2) What key features should I consider (other than feedramps) in selecting my upper?
3) I am going for lighter weight middy, is the MUR too heavy?
4) I'm playing with VLTOR, BCM, LaRue, DD options here....maybe CMMG - Are there others I should consider, too?

Thanks in advance, I promise pics when done.

hey RW,
bravo has both the 14.5" and the 16" middy barreled uppers in stock right now. they also have the 16" middy in hammer forged. (i'm holding my breath for a 14.5" in a chf. )
that is you don't want to install the barrel yourself.
middys
14.5"
pk has many barrels in stock. the choice pick being a colt 14.5" m4 barrel.
colt
vltors and larues are becoming more available, finally, although i should tell you that a vltor will not fit in a clamshell upper vice block.
