OK so heres the Deal i have made a 80% and i have put in a regular trigger in it and its probably around 10 lb of tigger pull but verry crisp, so my question is should i get a better trigger with the $ or get a better scope ? |

Is it safe to use both a Bill Springfield reduced pull trigger with the set screw like a Superior Lower??? Superior has a disclaimer about that regarding performance low weight triggers, see link.

Suer you can use a Bill Springfield trigger in a Superior lower. Just because there is a set screw to elevate the tail of the trigger, doesn't mean you have to use it. I meant using the set screw along with the adjusted trigger at the same time. I'm not trying to sound dumb, but just asking for opinions. |

You don't need the set screw with Bill's trigger job because he welds a small spot under the trigger to do that already, part of his trigger job takes that mod into his work.
The set screw and some simple polishing will get you a nice trigger on it's own or send it to Bill, you don't need them both. Some folks just use the set screw method alone and leave the trigger standard, you could try that first, cheapest route to start with. I have heard of some lowers not being threaded all the way through so you might have to tap the threads the last few turns and then get a 1/4x28 allen head set screw and try it. |

My bad, my response was quick, I didn't take into account how it could be taken. As the poster above mentioned Bill's trigger job has a small weld on the bottom of the tail, to achieve the same results as the set screw on the Superior lower. When you get the trigger back from Bill, you might try backing off the set screw a bit. Too much elevation on the tail and the hammer won't catch the disconnect. |
I didn't realize a weld was put in place, thus the dumb question on my part . I will back the screw out entirely when I get to that point. I have a little more creep than I like now and am thinking $35 is a pretty good value. I have a spare lower hidden from the wife |
