Hope this isn't a double post because I think I screwed up my first try
Been waiting 20 years to build/buy AR so want to do this right. Bought a 14.5" LMT Upper (already purchased) Magpul UBR stock (CTR if I run out of money) MI smooth free float carbine handguard with top rail Magpul MIAD grip Building the Lower. Planning on using a Tactical Innovations Stripped Lower with STBA (anyone familiar with this system?) Was going to use Giessele or RRA trigger. Worried about the RRA as I've read the pins are larger and I'm worried about using it with the Tactical Innovations STBA receiver. My main question is - if I use a Giessele trigger and MIAD grip - is there a list of the other lower parts that I should buy to put it all together or should I just buy a whole kit and just double down on these parts? I haven't purchased anything other than the upper so if you have any comments/concerns about the other equipment, please share - especially the lower receiver. |

Since you have a 14.5" upper, be aware that you need to pay $200 to the ATF for a tax stamp for an SBR or have an appropriate length muzzle device permanently (pinned and welded or soldered) attached. You may or may not have already known this
The STBA is an easy way to separate you from $30, nothing more than a gimmick. Save the $30 for a few magazines. Just my $0.02 |

I would go with the Troy TRX Extreme fore stock if you want a smooth tube and top rail
The RRA 2-stage NM triggers does not have bigger pins. I like this trigger, and you can get a combo NM trigger and LPK for $180 from Legal-Transfers. "Tactical Innovations STBA" sounds/looks pretty worthless. Just buy a good quality stripped lower from RRA, Armalite, Mega, etc. Personally, I like the Mega's and the YHM lowers, but there are lots of other good ones out there. |

Aero Precision Thread
And the parts kits are DPMS, so commercial quality. |
