So I am picking up a stripped upper, kaiser defense.  I am certain I want the DD 16" carbine stripped barrel.  I want free float rails, SO what can I skip out on, since this is from scratch, such as barrel nut, etc.. I will be putting on a fixed f marked a2 FSB

which of the FF rails are "monolithic" in appearance and strength (no movement) I was leaning towards YHM or MI, since I dont buy things more expensive just cause of brand.. now if DD, Troy or Larue, etc rails are far more strong than of course I would go with that

IMO....If you wish to save a few bucks go with a YHM Free Float Rail.  There on sale right now for around $105.00  I have a LaRue, POF, and Yankee Hill.  You will be happy with it.  It installs very easy.  Spend the extra money and get the YHM spanner wrench to lock down the ring.  Its worth it so you dont scratch it up.  I went with a rifle length on my 16" upper and it looked great.  Hide the gas block.  Get the end cap too... its makes it look finished.  YHM on the bottom 16"

is the YHM continuous rail? is it "monolithic"? Do you have the you anti rotaion doohickeys and does it move? What if i wanted to use a FSB, is there cutout versions? keep in mind I am building from scratch so I could just go with a flip up on the rail I suppose

It has a small gap between the upper and forend rail.  I have an Aimpoint mounted on mine and I have not had a problem.  I also employ BUIS and they co-witness perfectly.  The rail locks down perfect and uses 2 screws that lock down to the grooves on the barrel lock ring so the rail will not rotate.  I use my rifle hard at work.  It gets knocked around quite a bit and has functioned flawless.  I do not know if they offer a cut out version but I believe they do not.  If you wished to use a fixed front sight with a rail then you would probably need to check out LaRue or DD.  Go with flip up BUIS ( Troy or Magpul).  Again just my opinion.  I've built a few guns that people stake their lives on and I have no problem with telling you to purchase the YHM rail system.  I'm doing an two 11.5"s for work now that will use the same rail with MBUS sights.

YHM gear is good bang for buck. I get mine through brightflashlights (you can find them in the industry forum) I haven't found anyone with cheaper prices yet, and normally shipping is included in the quoted price.

ETA: heres a link to brightflashlights advertisement, and they do make a rail that goes around the front sight post.

Personally I would go with a lo pro gas block with rifle length rail and MBUS back up sights.

The YHM diamond series has a quasi-monolithic top rail.  I just ordered a daniel defense lite rail, because it is narrower and lighter than the yhm.  I have owned yhm, and it is good for the money.
