Here are the two pieces and the two pins. They go together like the second picture and look like the third installed.
 
Put the sling side on. Put the opposite side on. Some can only go on one way. Others may have two different size half circles like the one in the picture. Put the circle that matches the size barrel yo have up against it. Probably the bigger one. Put some lube on the roll pins. Install the two roll pins using a 1/8 or similar size punch and small hammer. You may have to squeeze the two "U" shaped parts (gently, don't bend them out of shape) that go around the barrel to get the pin holes to line up. |

If you are going to Lowes or Home Depot they sell a three punch set that includes a 1/16, 1/8 and one other size forgot. It will come in handy down the road. Thet have a small tack hammer, too. Looks like the one in the lower right of this picture.(the picture has nothing to do with what your doing - it's the only one I could find on my computer real quick.) Also, you can put some lube (CLP or something) on the barrel before you install the sling swivel to prevent rust, etc.
