Ok, I'm a bit confused. I read if you change your BCG, you should have the headspace checked.

Then I read from BCM:

" Professional Grade Weaponry, by BCM™

Made by Bravo Company MFG, Inc. (BCM™) These Barreled Upper Receiver Groups are designed for shooting professionals with the Mil-Spec features for the demands of their duty. They are fully assembled, headspaced, and test fired. These do not include bolt carrier groups or charging handles. "

If the BCM uppers don't come with a BCG and manufacture notes say Do not include BCG, What's the deal?

Does adding a BCG automatically mean you should check headspace? BCM says it's already headspaced.

Please educate me.

Thanks!

In an AR as long as the barrel/barrel extension is made properly (chambered to specs off of the barrel extension) then an in-spec bolt will headspace properly.

Ideally you should check the headspacing with any particular bolt/barrel combination.  In the real world it's almost never a problem.
