This was my very first build and it was all built from parts (even welded the FH myself).  Nothing was assembled in any way, i figured if I'm gonna build, might as well jump in with both feet  She already has 240 rounds through her (everything from wolf to Olympic ss109) and haven't so much as a hiccup from her.  I am very pleased!

what barrel make?  Weight?  Profile? Twist rate? etc.

looks good.  For me, the VFG is either removed or moved much further forward.

Good barrel too.  Looks good all around.

If that's where you like the VFG then that's absolutely where it should go.

I'm not really heavy into the shooting games like I was, but I started with my VFG in the "magwell position", took it off completely (and did well), and toward the end moved it further forward to try and speed up my times on shoulder-to-shoulder silhouettes.  Don't think it made much difference, but that's where it stayed.

Thanks for the input. The only reason i'm using this particular VFG is because it was free from a friend.  I plan on replacing it with a stubby type VFG, as i shoot with my support hand half on the VFG and half on the HG.
