I am looking to buy a 22LR barrel from Spikes, and I have never mounted a front sight block, I wanted to just do an A2 sight, but I am curious about the cross pins, are the Spikes barrels pre-drilled for this, I dont really know how you would position and then drill the holes for the cross pins if it is not already drilled. Or are there flats on the barrel for a clamp/set screw type FSB. I will be calling Spikes on Tuesday to ask them, just wanted an answer sooner if possible.

I the Lothar barrel upgrade worth while, what is different/better about those barrels?

If you want one with a FSB you would be better off getting it already mounted. It can be a pita with out a fixture, and no the holes are not pre-drilled.

You have a reply from the man who can make it happen, badazzar15 is "The Man" for Spike's Tactical.
Anything you could possibly want to know about Spike's, he can give you the answer.

I mounted a front sight on my Green Mountain Barrel and it came out perfect. I'm not so sure I could do another so well in a million tries. It is a PITA.

Simple Answer about the Lothar Walther Upgrade, If you want a World Class Rifle as far as accuracy, YES.
The tightest group I've fired at 25 yards with the Green Mountain Barrel is the size of a penny.
The tightest group I've fired with the Lothar Walther was 0.200 Center to Center of the worst hits, using CCI Green Tag Ammo.
badazzar15 felt that may qualify for listing in "The Best Black Rifle Target Ever".

BTW, my Lothar Walther was a build too. I used parts from about 15 different manufacturers. At present it still has a bone stock DPMS Fire Group.
