Looks like a solid carbine.

Optics can always be addressed later.  At least you have front and rear irons.  The Bushnells seem to do a decent job as an interim sight.

Curious...cost wise what do you have in the gun?  Minus the red dot and all the extra mags.  Nice firearm BTW!

I kept all my reciepts, I'll go through them and make a list if you want.  I believe its a little over a grand.

I forgot a couple things in my parts list in the OP, they are added now.

Send it out my way, I'll give it a workout and give you a first hand impression.

I think I'll test it out myself, but thanks for the offer.

Range session and sight in, to follow this weekend.  I'll let you know how it shoots.

I like it. It's the antithesis of all the $3k wonderguns that will spend their lives in a safe. Shoot it, and shoot it a lot with a smile on your face.

Good looking first build. If I had it to do over again, I would build my first AR. I thought I would get a complete rifle to see how everything went together but as you know, it's not that hard.

No, I do not have any other buffers to compare it to.  I was looking online and found the weights for each buffer.

Standard Carbine buffer / 2.8oz
H buffer / 3.6oz
H2 buffer / 4.4oz
Endine hydraulic buffer / 4.2oz
These are the weights according to PKFirearms website.

It is only .2oz lighter than the H2 buffer, but it does have the extra "give" from the hydraulic arm.  We'll see how it works.
