Has anyone experienced the charging handle rubbing on the castle nut of the colapsible stock? I have a DPMS upper and a Superior Lower that fit together great after sanding the lower slightly, so I'm not sure if this has something to do with it.
Thanks. |

i think what i said justifies how i feel pretty well... i get so tired of the whining bitches when they say shit like
- i have brass marks on my shell deflector - my charging handle is rubbing the castle nut, is this ok - I scratched my lower when i was putting the roll pin in - I got some scratches on my butt stock - i dropped my rifle and dinged the rails, is this ok???? - a tree branch scratched my rifle today when i was shooting come the fuck on get a life, its a rifle that was designed to to a serious beating and keep on shooting. Scratches are cosmetic and character to the gun. If you are worried about any of theses scratches you HAVE NO BUSINESS RUNNING AN AR of any kind |
A slight upward pressure while pulling the CH back will alleviate this, if it's bothering you. I'm not talking about being Mr. Universe and bending the thing, just a very slight upward pressure will be all it will take to stop it from rubbing as it comes back. When you let it go to charge the weapon, it's gonna do what it's gonna do. Don't be concerned. As stated already, it's pretty normal, unless of course your seeing metal shavings coming off it each time you charge it. I wouldn't consider that normal.

some of you people kill me with the "i got a scratch on my AR, what do i do???? Is this bad? Holy Cow you guys shouldnt be running an Ar if you are worried about scratches and rub marks. Give the guy a break. He didn't mention aesthetics at all, you're just assuming that's why he asked. One can just as easily assume that he sees two parts rubbing that don't have a reason to rub together. If my tire was rubbing my fender, I would probably wonder if it means something more serious is wrong than just black marks on my fender. |

So you are telling me that there aren rub marks where your charging handle pulls back??????????? And if your tire was rubbing your fender i would tell you to get it checked out. That comparison has nothing to do with any of this, but it was at best a feeble attempt at being what the post below you said, an Asshat. your probably one of those people i talked about that has no business around an AR |

I could actually care less about wear and tear on my AR rifles. The reason I asked in the first place was that functionally the charging handle rubs on the nut causing the charging of the bolt to be "clunky". I have a Colt HBAR A2 that doesn't have this issue, but it's not a flat-top, the upper and lower are from the same manufacturer etc., so I didn't know if these could be contributing to an "issue" or if it was something to be expected.
My thought was that charging the rifle should be as smooth as possible, especially under tactical/high-stress conditions. |

I'm thinking what you may or may not despise is of little concern to anyone. If you get your panties in a wad over someone asking a question, oh well. You can either deal with it by pissing and moaning or not following the thread. I'm betting you opt for the pissing and moaning. ![]() |

should have been the 1st question
