How far can the bolt be safely opened up? The .450 Bushmaster supposedly uses a .223 bolt opened up to the .308 head diameter. Will it be safe enough to open up the AR-15 bolt face to tthe .308 diameter to use it for a 6.5 Grendel built out of cut down .308 cases? The only reason I ask is I have access to a metris shit ton of .308 brass and I really don't want to pay the price for Lapua brass.
If it won't work, can an AR 10 bolt be made to fit the AR-15 carrier? |
