Alright, I'm gonna jump in and do this thing, but first things first.
Is there a "bad" AR? I know some are better than others and everyone seems to have their favorites, but are there any manufacturers I should absolutely avoid??? please inform me of "why" w/ answer. BIG THANKS IN ADVANCE! |

Vulcan/Hesse just for their reputation alone. Outside of that I don't think so. Many don't like Olympic, but that is more over specs than anything. I am new here but from what I have read here this is the one stay away from. They also went by Blackthorne. |

Holy Crap! Thanks for the heads up. I've just completed ALL my research on Vulcan / Hesse / Blackthorne / Big Pile of Steaming Dog Shit. (pardon my french...) It did not take long. Still looking for some opinions on Doublestar. Class... Anyone... Class ??? and I think that their new name is velocity firearms. |

The price kinda made me nervous, though. |

So many bad AR's it's near impossible to list them. Seems that everyone's manufactured AR's in their garages over the years. Go with a reputable name and I don't necessarily mean Colt.
Find one you really like and ask us about it. You'll have an answer in a heartbeat. As you mentioned, we have varied opinions so weigh the answers. Good Luck, SO-13 |

The Bad AR is whatever AR that do not fit to your objective. Say you have a 14.5" light barreled AR and you want a tac driver or a sniper type of rifle. Or you want a CQB rifle and you have an 18 inch AR with heavy stainless barrels. Also a bad AR could be very expensive lowers then very cheap upper. A very cheap AR can be very good for some who wants to plink but bad for those who wants quality AR. A quality AR like a Noveske or Knights Armament could be best for others but waste of money for others.

Speaking of Vulcan garbage, there is a dealer on GunBroker that loves to Bait-And-Switch with Vulcan garbage: SandWVentures, out of Kentucky. Last December I won an Essential Arms stripped lower receiver, but was Bait-And-Switched with a Vulcan stripped lower instead... the seller was a total ASSHOLE about it. |
