| This may sound like a dumb question, but this past weekend I installed a YHM Spectre length Diamond hanguard and two piece Spectre gas block on my Stag carbine. At this point I am looking to buy a Phantom flash hider, but am curious how I should go about properly installing it since there is no longer a front sight tower to support the barrel during the torquing of the flash hider. Any recommendations? Would I be better off looking at a Vortex instead? |

Get a set of barrel vise blocks. I've heard of some guys making their own out of wood but I've never tried.

| No, I had not really intended to just clamp the front sight base in my vise. The main issue is that without the front sight base installed, there really isn't anything to hold onto (so to speak). I have installed the standard Phantom flash hiders in the past by hand since they didn't need to be timed, but the 5C1 is different. |
