I assume there is no problem with re-installing a barell nut after it has been torqued down and removed, but do any of you have a different opinion, and if so please explain.

Yep, no problem at all.
IAW the -23&P, the barrel nut is even allowed to be missing a certain number of teeth and still remain serviceable.
