i'm putting together my first lower, and i cant figure out which spring is the bolt catch spring and which one is the disconnector spring.

http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a386/mattsffrd/IMG_3460.jpg

the green one on the right has the fat part on the top, and it wont let my disconnector sit low enough to get the pin through, and it wont fit in the hole for the bolt catch buffer.  i'm 90% sure its the spring for the disconnector but i cant get it low enough to get the pin through.  any tips?

The large end fits into the trigger.

The larger end prevents the spring from coming out of the trigger assy. I've seen a few cases where AR-15's have rapped off more than 1 round at a time when that happens. The disconnector doesn't disconnect so well without the spring.

Make sure the disconnector spring goes large coil end into the trigger or you may have a big problem on your hands!

awesome, thanks guys!  good thing i asked...the building guide sticky should include something so important.

and dont tempt me with the "more than one round at at time" idea...

Don't ever leave the whole disconnector out either. That can be a violent thing in some cases. I saw that at an indoor range once, it woke everybody up better than Coffee.....
