I've put together a couple of lowers, all with standard buttstocks.  This is the extent of my building experience to date.  I would like to build a complete rifle.  I know that I will need an action block for the upper receiver.  And I'll need the wrench for attaching CAR style butt stocks.

My question is:

Is there one wrench that will install every possible free float tube?

Pics and/or links would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Paul

Nope

Start with a regular armorers wrench as that will do most of them, then you will have to buy the specialty tools for specific ones. If installing one, just borrow it, More than one get the wrench. I have more than this now but its an idea. Go to the HTH to borrow tools

A dpms Armorers Wrench,a good set of punchs, a good set of vises will get you started on almost anything you would need for building ARs.Things like a CAR Stock Spanner Wrench, FSB pin pound out blocks, and detent installation tools just make it easyer.

Basically A DPMS Armorers Wrench, YHM FF wrench, and a GI wrench should  have you pretty well covered, ofcourse a good strap wrench can be worth its weight in gold.

Thanks guys.  Seems like there's been a run on some of these items.  Lot's of folks show out of stock on the DPMS tool.

My first upper build will be an SPR type rifle with a standard buttstock.  I guess the YHM will do the trick.
