Got a call today letting me know my lower receiver came in. This was my first time building an AR and other than a few nicks I think it came out great! Lower when I picked it up, http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/4752/stagpackage.jpg Upper Half that was waiting to be matched to lower. http://img31.imageshack.us/img31/5169/upperhalf.jpg The Finished Build! http://img145.imageshack.us/img145/6833/rightofrifle.jpg http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/1966/angledshotofgun.jpg I had trouble putting the bolt catch roll pin in.
http://img38.imageshack.us/img38/9859/lowerreceiverscratches.jpg Specs: Stag Arms lower receiver DPMS lpk Bushmaster upper half M4 Feed Ramps Chrome Lined 16" Barrel with 1:9 Twist Magpul CTR stock Magpul MIAD grip Magpul MBUS Troy 12" Rails Magpul XTM Rail Covers Troy VFG My friend gave me some Tapco Mags which work for now but I need to pick up some PMags as well as optics down the road once I get some money! |

That's really nice... How do you like the MBUS? I'm not sure if I love it or hate it... The external shape of the aperture is square... And it makes the ring look sort of funny. I guess I would get used to it... But it is the biggest reason I am reluctant to buy one... PS: Nice job with the clone stamp (Or did you use healing brush...? Looks like clone stamp.) on the SN... I almost didn't notice. |

I almost didn't notice. This being my first AR I can't compare the MBUS to other BUIS, but me presonally, I like it. When I look through the aperture I don't really notice the square outer shape so it doesn't bother me at all. It feels pretty sturdy and goes up and down very nice. And I used the healing brush. |

You know.... If you had taken the healing brush after those nicks around the bolt release... You could have impressed everyone with your mad skillz.

As I was putting together the bolt catch got a couple nicks. What we were talking about was a healing brush tool in Photoshop to enhance/touch-up pictures. If you are looking to get rid of the nicks in your rifle I would suggest looking at aluminum black. Such as located Here. |
