[ARCHIVED THREAD] - ramp extensions?

The receiver I bought does not have ramp extensions but th barrel does...will that matter, and when do you add the cuts to the receiver, pre or post intallation?

From what Ive learned so far on here, ramps on the barrel but not the reciever shouldnt affect anything.
but ramps on the reciever but not the barrel gives you a big big problem.

I'd wait for someone more experienced to come along tho

M4 ramps in the barrel and none in the upper is fine.
you can cut ramps in to the receiver, but not necessary.
